In addition to traditional testing, we also provide Transformer and Oil-Filled Equipment Services. We have five (5) vacuum dehydration/oil processing rigs with crews performing the following:
- Oil filtration
- Transformer / oil circuit breaker degasification & dehydration
- Transformer assembly & vacuum filling
- Transformer leak repair / re-gasket services
- Transformer cooling upgrades
- Load tap changer (LTC) maintenance
- Bushing replacement
- Transformer replacement & decommissioning
Where We Work
TPS employs more than 140 field technicians, engineers, and support personnel along the U.S. Gulf Coast. With multiple field offices throughout Texas and Louisiana, our corporate locations include Houston - Rosharon, TX; Victoria, TX; Baton Rouge - Gonzalez, LA; and Lake Charles - Sulphur, LA. Although our operations mainly focus in this Gulf Coast region, Tidal Powers Services has the equipment and experience to support our customer base all across the country and around the world.
Our History
In 1973 our founder, Dennis Janak, graduated from the University of Houston. He began working for Bath Electrical Systems (BES) in Clute, TX as a field engineer, eventually becoming president. BES was purchased by Emerson Electric in 1998. Dennis remained with Emerson until his retirement in 2002. With decades of engineering and business experience, Dennis ended his brief retirement period to start Tidal Power Services in 2003.
